yes, i did check if it was on.
However - i think the problem is something different - i think i somehow managed to break the database - immediately after the reset, ONE shelf still appeared, with no book inside... i'll need to reset the database completely... somehow it seems to survive the resetting... i also checked with the sqlite-databaseexplorer - it seems to still contain some of the values that were before the reset. ps: somone has an idea where i can find a empty database for version 2.3.1? |

If you do a full factory reset (find it under settings menu), that should put the device back to an empty database. Signing out of your account on the device and back in should also reset the database, but a full reset would be a better option.

Remember a full reset will also require a reloading of any / all updates; the logout / login will save time by keeping the firmware as is.

Hello again,
thank you all for your help - in the end, the problem was that the damaged Shelf was "halfsynced" to the User-Account. Therefore, after every reset + login + sync, it was there again. I was able to resolve this Problem by opening the sqlite-database with a Databaseexplorer and setting the shelf as "isdeleted" (of course only after making a full backup). Then, i synced the whole thing again, and the shelf was not appearing anymore from this point on. Also, the database was not corrupted anymore (and after a restart of the device, also the book-cover-thing was working). Greetings Matthias |

Does anybody know if editing the affiliat.conf file also works on the Aura?
This too displays the boring fnac logo in sleep mode. Also, under light/energy settings there's nothing about screensavers or any "show current book" option. Will that option suddenly appear if you edit the affiliate.conf, or will the device show book covers regardless of the option being present in the settings dialogue? |

Okay, to answer my own question: yes, editing the conf file is enough. No need to to a factory reset, editing the conf file suddenly reveals this show book cover option in the settings, and it's on by default. (Full screen seems to be off by default.)
Neat. |
