2.5.2 Hacks? - Page 4

I have what might be a stupid question. I installed the Jailbreak and the SS Hack. If I want to install a new update, as I understand it, all I have to do is uninstall the SS Hack and the update will install. Am I correct, or did I miss somethning? Thanks to all who worked on the above. I for one appreciate your time.

No: it's the same font but somewhat improved for a bit more "crispness", plus there are more font size choices.

You can use the existing hacks, if you install jailbreak-2.5 and then repackage the hack with --sign and not --ex.

If you don't want to do it yourself, I'm afraid you'll have to wait for someone else.

Is this something a novice can do? Can you point me to directions on how to repackage the old Georgia 2 font hack the way you are talking about? I'm computer literate, but have never worked with programming in any form.

I'm afraid I don't have time to write out detailed instructions.

You can download the packager from http://www.avenard.org/kindle2/

You'll need to install python, and a program that can open .tgz files.

The packager gives help if you run it with no arguments

(under which Kindle update process runs as I hear from my local forum)

Actually, we already have a new font hack based on that idea by our local guru. (not my idea)
I think that maybe used for screen saver hack also.

The usbNetwork update installed just fine on my 2.5.4 K2i. But now, how do I start / activate it?

Never mind. Finally figured it out. In some hacks it takes ~usbNetwork,
but in this one, apparently, it takes `usbNetwork.
