Turn your Sony PSP into an e-book reader
The screen of Sony's PlayStation Portable is far to precious to be used just for gaming. With PSPPDF the first steps have been taken to turn the Sony into a capable e-book reader. Well, admittingly, it still looks rather simplistic and requires a fixed filename, "a.pdf", but it's the thought that counts and sources are available as well!

Based on the same engine, someone had updated it. It's called Bookr. O.51 released today.
Wonder why there's a native PDF viewer for the PSP barely a year after PSP becomes available, while Palm OS still had none (new DocsToGo isn't available yet). |

There is an active hacker community behind a gaming platform because of the nature of the platform. Programmers play games, and can get recognition for releasing programs like that to the general PSP community. These supporters wont code a thing in their lives, but will support a project perhaps with paypal donations or simply blog comments.
Plus the PSP is a sexy platform, so of course it gets the attention from the guys ;-* |
