I think at one time or another, each of the books was in the lead. I'm glad that Crocodile on the Sandbank won, though. Of the three, a female archaeologist/detective in Victorian England sounds most like something I'd enjoy reading right now, but they all sounded promising.

Crocodile is sheer pleasure and a great summer read, too. I'm not sure I'll reread, but I think it was a terrific choice even if I didn't vote for it.

It seems like the closely-divided-itis that the lit club has had recently has rubbed off onto this one as well.

Well I'm going to read The Necropolis Railway anyway. Now to go search for the cheapest copy of Crocodile on the Sandbank.

I've started "Crocodile". A pleasant read, but the mystery/crime sure takes it's time to appear...
Will read Lehane (that I voted for) as well. |

I hope everyone enjoys Crocodile on the Sandbank. As for crocodiles, I don't think I'd enjoy seeing this guy on a sandbank:

Missed the run off vote...but won't miss the read this time! Crocodile, yay!
Edit: This will be a welcome re-read for me, though last time I listened to it as an audiobook from Overdrive. Sadly, our library's Overdrive no longer has a single copy of the book in any form, so I bit the bullet and bought a copy. It's like visiting an old friend, so I don't really mind. Crocodile on the Sandbank is one of the worst eBooks ever picked for the Book Club. I spend more time marking errors then reading. This book has a number of em dash errors and ALL the ... are wrong. What a ghastly book from the standpoint of errors.
Are the other eBooks in the series this bad? |
