Be sure to get a version other than PRC - they appear to have DRM added, but no linked PID, so I can't get them to open. They had the same problem when they put the first 16 up for free (and solved it by removing all the other mobi versions).

The LIT versions have covers, the EPUB do not (one epub is noticeably larger than the lit version, the other is not, but I didn't investigate why too closely). The LIT versions converted to mobi with a couple of clicks, so I don't know why Harlequin can't figure out how to do it correctly.

I downloaded them in PRC the other day and just opened them now via mobipocket reader and they opened fine.

I didn't log in to harlequin before downloading or anything. I haven't tried them on my kindle or other pc yet, but they did open fine on my desktop system.

Thanks for posting this! I typically convert lit->txt for the jetBook (can convert to rtf to "clean up" if needed - and then custom pdf if I want a nice font). I've been reading the others in plain old txt and it is fine. Why I do all this extra formatting I do not know - like a kid with a new toy that I have to take apart?

Haven't tried just opening them in the epub format - will do that later today.

Ok, I installed mobireader on the netbook and that will open them (Calibre and the original Kindle will not). So, the DRM is over the type that phones home for a PID after download, it seems. So, unlike the others, where even mobireader would not open them, you should be able to strip the DRM from the MR created version of the book and use elsewhere (assuming that such DRM stripping is legal where you are and you can figure out how).

For the majority of those with Kindles, they are better off getting LIT and letting Calibre copy it to their machine after they convert to Mobi (two clicks, no legal gray areas).

Harlequin added a 17th free ebook, sometime after posting the original 16 books giveaway. If you haven't already gotten it, here it is at the very bottom of the page:

The Rebel Doctor's Bride

Dumb question, but for these ePubs, do I need to download Adobe digital editions?

Well can I just import them to my library? I don't need to open them on my computer.

Note that the Mobi version is apparently corrupted - won't open in mobireader or kindel/calibre.

They also added mobi versions back, it seems - those that are not corrupted all have DRM, so Calibre and Kindle (at least my Kindle 1, which is up-to-date on it's firmware) won't open them.

The LIT versions convert just fine (and have covers, unlike the epub versions I checked).
