Digital Editions 1.7 & Full Justification...Finally?

So it seems Adobe has updated its Digital Editions application to support full justification when displaying the epub format. After a quick test using Adobe Digital Editions to send some epub files over to my PRS-505 it still only displays as left justification, also the page numbers are false.

So, the question here is, is this a firmware issue and should we have a reasonable right to expect an update from Sony?

If they updated the desktop version of Digital Editions, then they updated the desktop version. Will a new firmware release update the mobile version of DE on the Reader? It's up to Sony.

Now excuse me while I go download and try out this new DE. If they really did add full justification, then Lester and Sorotokin deserve a pat on the back.

I suppose, I guess. I prefer reading on my dedicated external reading device.

Hey, now it's up to Sony to release a firmware update, like I said. Nobody can say Adobe didn't do its part.

Excellent! One more step (a Reader firmware update) and I could return to being very interested in epub.

It now renders text which the book specifies as justified as actually justified. As a user alas you are presently beholden to the whim of the book producer.

P-shaw! I turned full justification off on my Sony Reader (for LRFs). But I'm embarrassed to admit I don't remember how!

I think it was in the wonderful PRS Customerizer options...

It's probably because my first ebook reading was done on my PDA with eReader, and that program left-justifies text. It's what I've grown accustomed to and now what I prefer.

It would be nice if the reader were given the choice of selecting left or full justification, but I suspect that the majority of Reader users would prefer full justification, if for no other reason than that's what you get with LRF files.
