Kindle Fire HD not detected

Hello all.

I just received my 8.9" Kindle Fire HD and I can't get calibre to detect it.

I am on a Mac and I have downloaded the Android File transfer software from Amazon. When I plug the Kindle in to the Mac using the usb cable it came with, the Android file transfer program pops up, so I know that the kindle is "mounted" by the Mac.

However, calibre does not detect it and I can't get the "Save to device" to show up. I have checked that the device is not in the "ignored" list in the preferences and I am running the latest version of calibre (0.9.35) as advised in the sticky in this forum.

Is this problem a result of this device being so new or is there something I need to change in calibre? Do I need a plugin or something?
