Smith, E.E. "Doc": Spacehounds of IPC
One of the first scifi books I read (after Jules Verne.) It was in a bag of paperback books my uncle gave me one summer. I have forgotten the rest of the books, but never this one. It is a quick read and a fun read.
Doc Smith held a PhD in chemistry and one of the first true modern scifi writers. The original story appeared in 1931 in the July, August, and September issues of Amazing Stories. I have removed the story summaries that appeared at the start of the second and third part of the original publication as they are not needed for the book form. The illustrations were not available and references to them have also been omitted. Italics have been preserved. Edit: Added the three illustrations (chapters 1, 5, and 9), the title information below both graphics that had it (chapters 5 and 9), and the series introduction on the title page. |

Where do you get your sources from? The Project Gutenberg HTML version contains images.

Download the "zipped" version of the HTML. That contains the images. Any time you see the ZIP version as being bigger than the unzipped, that's a sure sign that there are pictures.

I know what you meen by being introduced to Sfi-Fi by EE Smith. Mine was "First Lensmen". The funny thing is that the bit in Tri-Planatary about the chemist during WWII is semi-biographical for Doc Smith.

Based on suggestions and requests, I have posted another version of Spacehounds of IPC with illustrations. This is the version 1.1 in the first post.

Lensman series is still in copyright. Only Triplanetary magazine version is out of copyright. That book was later rewritten for integration into the Lensman series.

metadata
Hi,
Thanks for converting this book. Is there anyway you could add the meta data for the author and title? Triplanetry is also missing the meta data. |

Uploaded version 2 with corrections to the author name. Seems that "Doc" messed up the software and did not display properly on the Reader.
