New Puppy!

The girlfriend and I got a new puppy. We named him Finnegan (me from Finnegan's Wake and her from a kid she liked name Finn). We picked him up from the shelter yesterday.

He's about 8 weeks old, and not much else is known. We think he may be a border collie mix. He's a scamp!

It's important to realize, of course, he's evil! No more than any other puppy, but my arms look like scratching posts!

Oh, he could never eat a puppy. They're so cute! Besides, I think if he tried, Gideon would make sure it was less Finnegan's Wake than Adrian's.

8 weeks and already in a shelter...

Poor puppy didn't have a good start in life, apparently. I hope you'll let him forget that and give him all the TLC he wants!

Yeah, but he seems remarkably well adjusted for the experience of being in the shelter so young. Very friendly but not overly submissive (or underly). Sleeps through the night great, not gotten sick on bringing him home..

I wasn't very happy about the quality of the shelter, they didn't have a staff vet and so the poor little guy had fleas and ticks, and a little underfed. But in the last two days he's gotten his shots and vaccines and has already gotten just the right amount of puppy fat!

But yes, being spoiled rotten already!

i can tell he's so happy you brought him home. it's obviously the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Gideon, he is soooooo adorable. What a precious pup. And I love the name you gave him.

Congratulations on the new family member. May you teach each other many useful things through the years and share countless warm, fuzzy moments.

Is he the only furry friend in the household?
