Why the G1? Multiple Android phones have been released since that one and I think they've all received better reviews than the G1. I'm not sure, though. Personally, I'm waiting for the Motorola CLIQ. I'm excited for it.

Cause he's like most of us and is an early adopter? If I'm not misstaken the G1 was the first Android-based model available.

Well why the G1. I have got the G1 immediately after the Android release. I am a developer and had to get my applications into the Android market. I am waiting for the next Sony E. releases. (which will get a Snapdragon CPU and enough RAM ) It is true the G1 is pretty slow.
