Hi,
I missed the folder with _uninstall files
May I see a list of installed apps on my kindle anywhere?
Will they be removed, if I remove custom firmware?

Which **will** remove all of the custom additions along with the jailbreak.

And has aged a bit over time.
Your choice is not limited to re-installing only version 5.3.1 -
You may install any of the "full image" Amazon firmwares.

Amazon only posts the most recent firmware image -
Early in the top post at the first link above, you will find a link an off-site archive of the Amazon firmwares.

See the link in the section headed: "Firmware 5.3.3 and 5.3.6"

You can try changing the version number of the update in the download url to get a different version..

E.g: Change http://..../update_kindle_5.3.x.bin
to
http://..../update_kindle_5.3.y.bin ..
