APNX from custom column

I'm attempting to use a custom column containing a fixed page count for the purposes of generating an APNX file on my Kindle and can't seem to get the configuration right.

The custom column is called "Page Count" and has a lookup name of "pagecount".

I've gone into the Device Interface Plugins for the Kindle and tried setting things to use this column, but nothing seems to work. I've tried "Page Count", "pagecount", and "{pagecount}", but always get the same page count (which doesn't match the number in the column and doesn't change when the number in the column changes).

I was able to verify that I was configuring the correct plugin by unchecking the "use more accurate" option, which resulted in a different (and larger) number of pages for the book.

I seem to be missing something in how to get this configuration correct. Any ideas?

Got it working. I didn't realize that custom column names needed to be prefixed with "#". After noting that in the search hints, I tried "#pagecount" and got things working as expected.

What am I missing?

I'm pretty new to this; can you explain how you got from page count to APNX file? I followed your instructions to create the custom column, which worked, but I don't know how to get the APNX to match.

Can you explain how you got it working?

You need to go to the preferences for the plugin for your Kindle device. Make sure the option "Send page number information when sending books" is checked and then filling "#pagecount" (or the appropriate lookup name of your custom column) in the appropriate field.
