Implemented, plugin, or so? Duplicated

I have doubts if it is possible, or if there is a plugin to do it, or if can't be done.

I control of adding books, you can set what to do with books when they are added, and what to do with duplicates. But it is based in Title and Author.

Could it be, or does a plugin do to be based in other column?

I have some libraries, with the same id column. But it is very populated... and would like to find anything to merge duplicates with same id (but different format). It can't be based in title, cause books like 1984 are in Spanish and English versions, for example, and could mix different languages books.

No, neither calibre nor any of it's plugins allow testing for relational comparisons between books of various languages, similarity of content, and applicability to a specified subject.

To get all that you would need a human brain.

The closest you will come to that is creating a customized, and highly detailed, database supporting all the information you might need.

The Find Duplicates plugin does allow you to find books that have a duplicated identifier (e..g a goodreads id, amazon id or whatever other id type you store in your books). Such a comparison completely ignores title/author.
