Has anybody got calibre2opds working with Copy.com?
Since my Dropbox account has no space for my ebook collection, I thought I'd try using Copy.com and calibre2opds to create a cloud storage solution. Ideally I'd like to use the OPDS catalog with Moon+ Reader, but would be more than happy to access the catalog via a Web browser, too. I've seen reference on these forums to people using the Dropbox/calibre2opds system with Copy.com, but I'm having a hard time making it work. Maybe because there is no Public folder on Copy.com? The problems I'm running into:

1) The generated XML OPDS file imports into Moon Reader through the Copy.com public link, but when I try to click on any of the links in the catalog (Authors, Tags, etc.) I get an embedded error message from Copy.com saying no file exists at that location.

2) I can't seem to access the generated HTML catalog from the Copy.com public link through a Web browser. It just opens a page that shows the HTML source code.

Like I said, I suspect this has to do with the lack of a Public folder option -- or my ignorance of one, since I'm new to Copy.com -- but since other people seem to have it working I'm obviously missing something. Any advice is appreciated.

I don't use calibre2opds but the wiki looks like it has steps on getting copy.com to work by making the top level folder of your library public.

Make sure that your library folder (the topmost folder with the _catalog inside) is publicly available by going to the settings and then share it publicly. After that, copy the URL from the little box and enter it into your browser's address bar. You can now browse through your folder online. Open _catalog and find the index.xml. To find the download link you can hover your mouse over the "download"-button and your browser will show you a preview of the link that you can type of, or you just click the button, open your browser's download menu and select "copy download url" from the file's context menu.

Thanks for your reply. When I follow the instructions on the Wiki, Moon+ Reader registers the catalog, but when I click on any of the catalog links I get the following error:

Invalidated OPDS content, please contact owner of this OPDS site to verify below error:

At line 1, column 0: not well-formed (invalid token)

I can verify that the OPDS catalog works correctly using the Dropbox public folder, so it seems the issue is specific to Copy.com.

As far as I know it is only Dropbox of the cloud services that allows the Public folder to act as a web site that supports relative links and thus be usable with Calibre2opds

I would like to be proved wrong though and find others that do!

I'd tried with copy.com and running index.xml (after making home folder public and getting link address for file) as OPDS address in Mrvel iOS app which opens page with catalogue categories but then get invalid message when trying to enter one or other of the categories.

That is an error thrown by the image conversion library that is being used to try and create a thumbnail from the Calibre cover (which is optional). I am guessing that it is complaining that the library code thinks that the image file is invalid in some way.

You do not mention what version/revision of Calibre2opds you are using (the most recent build being rev 272). In the current versions that message should just be logged and would not be fatal. I think in old releases the generation stops if that error occurs.

I wiped out my entire catalog and recreated with no problems.

I am on Linux (Linux Mint Maya 13 with Xubuntu 12.04).
I have installed and run normally calibre2opds version 3.3.
The program detects my library and creates thumbnails.
But it does note create any catalog.

You can tune the settings that control split-by-letter and pagination by settings on the advanced tab. However these settings are global, not just restricted to authors. You may want to refer to the online manual for more information on the relevant settings.
