Yes pity indeed, for these people are victims of a relentless advertising campaign by Jobs and co. Pioneering research on brainwashing was undertaken by the Nazis during WW2, and not surprisingly this fell into the hands of the CIA afterwards. Later on when this stuff became common knowledge and was declassified, corporations like Apple studied and incorporated it into their philosophy. What many don't know is that Apple is a place of secrets where one branch doesn't know what the other is doing, only recently its been revealed that Jobs and had a secret program going called iControl which would be built into all apple software. Not much is known about it except that its deeply embedded in the iAds framework. Obviously this program was the one deeply concerned with brainwashing techniques.

Scary stuff I know!! But I don't blame the zombies for their own state, they are victims of course. Victims of Jobs and his iControl!!

You can already see apple stagnating. Now that Jobs is gone, theres no more ideas for them. Every year itll just be ... iphone 6, 7 ...ect. There done!! Cook's got no ideas. All Ive can think of is to make things slimmer until they're nonexistent. Forstall only cares about making software that looks like pretty leather bound notebooks or book page effects!!

Pretty soon people are going to want features, and new types of devices. They'll convert soon enough as Android grows and grows!! Samsungs just the conquerer that will make way for a flood of companies who can all design rectangular phones!!

but...

it’s not all gloom and doom for the carriers. They get new contract customers in a saturated mobile market that will use a lot of data. Since the carriers are doing everything they can to move customers to the newer and more profitable shared data plans, the up front margin loss should work itself out over the life of those contracts.

We all tend to look at the benefits of what the iPhone has brought to the industry. But, what about the negatives? This is one of them. Apple commands such a high dollar amount that carriers are perceived to absorb the costs. Initially? yes. Indirectly? no.

The subsidized pricing difference for customers to walk out the door with an iphone is minimal. Upfront costs for carriers isn’t. Carriers then have to adjust their price plans accordingly to offset the cost. Guess who pays for that whether we want to support Apple’s ecosystem or not? ... Today, carriers have made it easy for anyone to afford an Apple device while making Apple very rich. But, it does come to the expense of EVERYONE; not just Apple consumers.

If you are a well fed, gainfully employed person in New York city USA with a liking for tech stuff
the Iphone line is more important.

At least Apple (or any tech company) is actually producing a tangible product and selling it to the eager masses to acquire their billions.

Instead of just stealing money from the Masses like Banks & Insurance companies .
