Have been "coming soon" for at least a couple of weeks now. What's not clear is the fixing system they will use - from the photographs it looks as the the power button is not accessible when the reader is in the cover, but the photographs may be just of mock ups.

We are all waiting with baited breath....

Can you let us know how much of a pain having to "partly remove" (M-Edge's words) the unit from the the cover to get to the power switch is? Thanks

Picture time.

Observations:

The straps hold the reader in very securely
The cover is reassuringly thick/rigid
getting at the power/lock switch with normal orientation is going to suck
but the inside strap is twice as wide as the outside one, cutting an opening in it might work out
You can use the stylus/pen/pointy stick to work the switch by pushing up on the reader a bit
there is a BIG space on the "binding" side
Folding the cover back on itself doesn't work well right now, maybe after breaking in it will do better

(note, mostly focusing on the negatives, I'd still say it's a very nice case for $20 and much better than the pictures I've seen of the white irex one)

Personally, I'd say the iRex one is a bit nicer, but it's also significantly more expensive.

Thanks for the photos.

Is it better to access the switch if you flip the cover 180 degrees so the large straps are up top and the cover opens to the right?

I think the big space is account for the optional light. Pretty rotten to have the reader even wider.

I was quite skeptic about the iRex cover but after some weeks of use I'm liking it.
The main issues are the price and maybe white colour is easy to get dirt.

The last picture shows the switch when the reader is flipped 180°. It is quite accessible that way. I realized just after posting why there was the big gap, since I also ordered the light but hadn't opened it yet... three more pics showing the light installed and the light on high and low settings in a dark room... The hot spot in the pictures isn't really noticeable when actually looking at it.

Rotating the case by 180 degree seems to "solve" the "switch access" problem, but feels weird since you have to open the case the other way. I am wondering why M-Edge doesn't swap the upper straps with the lower ones.

I was wondering that too. It looks like the widest strap is on the exact corner that you wouldn't want it.

Thanks for the pics Mr X. I would be ordering one today, despite the faff caused by having the widest strap exactly where you don't want it. My only problem is the psychological barrier of paying more for shipping to get it to Europe than for the product itself!
