Getting nook in India, Plz help I'm a Nwebie...

Hi All,

Hi, I am Sadanand from Bangalore, India and have asked my brother to get me a nook. Can I use it without registering in B&N site? Or do i ‘ve to mandatorily get it registered to even side load books via USB?
Kindly reply, so that I ask my brother to go ahead and buy.

I can't remember whether or not you "need" to register it, but there's no harm.

Why is avoiding registration important to you?

Dear afa,

Its not about avoiding registering, I am afraid that nook itself might not work in India, as we cant register it out of US soil...
Thats why I am worried, if I can use it (i.e., sideload books) without registering. Coz I am anyways not gng to buy from B&N Store, I only want to sideload books and read them...

softrooting very easy, allows you full functionality of Nook using sideloaded books.
I don't have any books from BandN but can do all the coverflow and indexing tricks.

Just buy it and use it, it will work just fine in India.
It works perfectly well in Thailand.
I already have over 400 sideloaded books on my additional SDcard and I only got my Nook yesterday morning.

This is My Library (Nookdevs version)
