can I sideload books?

Is it possible to side load books onto the kindle fire? I have lots of classics on my calibre that I would like to load onto the Kindle Fire that I just bought my dad for Christmas but I can't figure out how to do it

Instead of adding another unnecessary thread on this subject, a search in this forum will result in numerous threads such as this one:

Sideloading books

Thanks for the link! I must have been using the wrong search combo because my initial search did not turn up that thread.

Sideloaded books work fine on the Fire. If you use USB just drag and drop them into the Books or Documents folder.

If you use Dropbox or another way to sideload them then use this method here to get to work. You can also send your books to your Kindle through email. They will show up in the documents shelf.

You can use Calibre to send books to your Fire. Just connect with USB and in Calibre highlight the book and hit send to device. The latest versions of Calibre have support for the Fire.
