I still don't have the midori code. I'm hacking the underlying libs right now.
If only to feel like I got somewhere in the last week. We are running 1.8.2 webkitgtk now with hacked upload text. Next step: Recover / repatch all the source and go cap in hand to Christian to see if there is any chance he kept that vala code hanging around I suppose I should consider the libwebkit step forward a tiny victory at least. |

running a modded keyboard config...
(was no more work than hacking the toggleKeys script as alluded to earlier) |

Anyway any possibility to have that area like a popup with "clear all" option? BTW: I hardly using the browser on Touch, tried it just to give a feedback. |

yup. that is indeed on the list of "next steps", "select all on click" to help clear the URL entry area, popup keyboard automatically for one or two more locations.
Thanks very much for the feedback. It's appreciated. |

I mean a popup window to have a wider area for link. You may append it onto the top of keyboard . (or a general input area may also be good, ie for search, or other parts of the webpages that need an input from user.)

its a great idea.
perhaps I can pass that back to the midori team themselves for smaller real estate devices... intrinsic OSK support seems a natural addition also IMHO but can't expect them to provide the world I guess. Will digest, assuming I ever get the code back the way it was :\ |

added panic tap-out on power button
(and horror-story work-around for messed up screen resolution, sigh) Tested as working. So, to reiterate: if you get "stuck" for some reason, tapping the power button will now kill the app. |

Little gift for midori lovers (like me!).
MIDORI STARTUP/SHORCUTS PATCH How to use install the patch: - runit.sh is a better launcher for Midori. You should use it to overwrite the file with the same name in /extensions/midori/ folder, in order to have a little bug fixed (not all component were quitted after killing Midori, leaving trances in memory) - Launch the program. Close it. - Copy the file accels in the new, automatically-created folder: /extensions/midori-settings - Launch Midori. Click on preferences -> extensions -> shorcuts . Enable this extension (hope the name is this in the english version) - Enjoy your new keyboard shorcuts! + = zoom in - = zoom out r = reset zoom level d = downloads h = history f = find b = bookmarks p = previous page visited n = next page visited Obviously, shorcuts doesn't work if you are typing in a text field. For any doubts feel free to ask me! Last edited by Aeris; 11-16-2013 at 07:32 PM. |

Another trick: do you prefer to have everything on your top bar? Like side menu and zoom features?
just open the file /extensions/midori-settings/config and replace Code:
items=Quit,TabNew,Back,NextForward,ReloadStop,BookmarkAdd,Location,Search,KeyboardToggle,Trash,CompactMenu Code:
items=Quit,Panel,ZoomIn,ZoomOut,TabNew,Back,NextForward,ReloadStop,BookmarkAdd,Location,Search,KeyboardToggle,Trash,CompactMenu |

Thats a nice tip, not very practical on the touches though, which is why I limited the list.

Ah, right, didn't think about it!
P.S. I've played a lot also with luakit... I really like it now! Even if, respect to Midori, is slower to load page and crashes often (for example on news.google.com). By the way that port is totally usable and funny to use! |

Ah, twobob, I've tested also matchbox keyboard and... it gives problems on both luakit and midori (capital C doesn't work for example). Same on leafpad, and even worse with my dialogs.
At this point, it seems that matchbox can work properly ONLY on kterm xD |
