Ich hab mir heute Nacht noch für US$ 12.99 mein bisher teuerste eBook überhaupt gekauft. Für den Kindle "Mr Midshipman Hornblower", den chronologisch ersten Band der Hornblower-Serie von C. S. Forester.

Ich bin ja sowas von dankbar für das eingebaute Wörterbuch, denn bei den ganzen Fachbegriffen rund um Schiffe und Nautik versagt mein Englisch dann doch. Liest sich aber richtig klasse!

Ja, ist 'n klasse Buch. Und nachher kannst Du Seemännisch! Ist ja auch ein Pluspunkt! BTW: Geht vielen Engländern ähnlich wie Dir!

In Sachen Watts komm' ich momentan nur langsam voran, ist bislang aber sehr cool und auch ein wenig verstörend. Die Umgebung (Tiefsee) und die Arbeiter dort (die Rifters, ein recht "spezieller" Typus Mensch) tun ihren Teil dazu bei.

Ah, Du gehst zur seemännischen "Konkurrenz", viel Spaß dabei.

Ich hatte seinerzeit überlegt, ob ich Forester oder Patrick O'Brian anfangen sollte und habe mich dann für Kapitän Jack Aubrey und Dr. Stephen Maturin (auch auf Englisch) entschieden. Kann ich für Freunde solcher Seeabenteuer nur empfehlen. Die stehen, soweit ich sie bisher gelesen habe allerdings als P-Bücher im Regal. Und ausschließlich so wird es auch weitergehen.

Die Software habe ich, aber ich mag so nicht lesen. Das mit dem Reader wird aber wohl bald was. Ich habe mich jetzt die letzten Wochen intensiv mit dem Thema auseinandergesetzt, nun muss ich mich nur noch entscheiden.

Vielleicht ärger ich mich dann aber, häufig gibt es ja nach Weihnachten das eine oder andere Schnäppchen. Und noch habe ich genug Reserve auf Papier.

Hey, den lese ich auch als Nächstes und freue mich schon auf die Fortsetzung. Allerdings lese ich es noch richtig antik als Papierbuch. Ich muss mal weitergeben das ich keine Papierbüchergeschenke mehr haben will, sondern nur noch Ebooks in einem Ebookreader ; -) Und das gibt dann eine toller Ebookreadersammlung.

Zu vph-Zeiten hatten wir eine unserer Serien mal komplett auf CD gebrannt, richtig mit Cover, DVD-Hülle und allem, was dazu gehört. Da sich Shops mit Geschenkgutscheinen für eBooks noch immer schwer tun, wäre das vielleicht wirklich noch mal eine Alternative.

So könnte man sich die eBooks sogar noch in den Schrank stellen. Da wäre nur die preisliche Schmerzgrene nach oben ganz interessant zu wissen.

Wenn Du zum Beispiel eine ganze Serie auf CD bannen würdest, wäre bestimmt mancher bereit, dafür zu löhnen! Andrerseits hast Du dann wieder eine feste Auflage und musst in Vorlage gehen, um die Herstellung zu bezahlen=hohes unternehmerisches Risiko!
