I was wrong. No SF/Fantasy content at all, just a fictionalised US WWII childhood tale. It was OK, but not really my kind of thing.

Next up: Dark Watcher. The earliest bought book in my TBR pile, from early 2007. It seems to be a paranormal romance, and so concentrates a bit too much on the romance side of things for me, but I'm going to finish it.

I finished The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson last night. This is the last book in the (first) Mistborn trilogy. It was still pretty good, but didn't match the first two books, for me. I think some of the directions it chose to go in didn't resonate for me.

That means I've now read all of the books I ever bought from the late Books on Board. These were mainly US editions I shouldn't have been allowed to buy from the UK, but still, it's a minor milestone.

Another wonderful book from Nathan Lowell, though it kept me up until 2AM finishing it. In In Ashes Born, Ishmael is very much in recovery mode after the death of Greta, and also at loose ends with the sale of his ship. But now, Pip is back in his life, and the Universe had best watch out!

Lots of old friends are back in Ishmael's life, and we have some new characters, but they don't really get much of a chance to flesh out yet. But we know there's at least two more in this arc of the Solar Clipper universe, so I hope and expect to see some more new friends.

Now, back to Georgette Heyer's Lady of Quality. I'm actually quite enjoying it. This is the very last Regency she wrote, and it's one of her better ones. Delightfully witty.

Finished Lady of Quality, and it was a delightful romp. All the wonderful characters you expect in a Georgette Heyer. Less of the ridiculous situations, though the overall premise was suitably unlikely. All in all, very much worth the read.

It did concentrate far too much on the obvious (and apparently predestined) romance, and not enough on the urban fantasy for my tastes.

Next up: Asimov's SF Magazine, double issue for October/November 2015.

I am reading Last Man (Mitch Rapp series #13) the last writing book by Vince Flynn R.I.P.
tomorrow #14 The Survivor by Kyle Mills is out.
i send a message to Kyle Mills abut writing books of the early career of Mitch Rapp.
is answer: "Not with the next one, but maybe the one after that. I think it would be fun to finish the prequel trilogy!"

Just had a couple of re-reads this weekend, Venison stew by SA Gorden (I wish there were more of these available) and The Accidental alchemist by Gigi Pandian.

I'm nearly finished The Masquerading Magician by Gigi Pandian which gets released early next year which is also great
