Hide Books in Library

Hello All,

Very well set up community with lots of expertise....

Anyway, looking to see if anyone knows how to hide titles. When showing off the PRS-700, it would be nice not to have any of the politically incorrect titles standing out.

I know you can change title and author but looking to see if the titles can be placed in any sub folder or subcategory section so they do not show to the main list.

Thanks for any advise.

The only way to hide the eBooks you don't want anyone to see is to put them on an SD card and just not have the SD card inserted when showing off your 700.

Other than keeping your *private* titles on an SD or Pro-Duo card, which can be removed when appropriate, I can't think of any other way.

*edit* JSWolf was faster

WDE.

I apologize in advance if this question has been addressed somewhere else in the forum and also that it is slightly off topic, but I have just now gotten to the point of needing to put books on a memory card (specifically an SD card) as my internal memory is full, and I am wondering if you can leave it in the slot all the time or if you should store it in it's case when not reading from it. I am geting the new M-Edge case and the pictures show places to store the cards in the cover. Just wondering if there are any recommendations regarding this.

rebarnmom--

I leave my SD card in the slot. Some people have noticed this using up their battery quicker, but I don't really notice any extra drain on my battery.

If you remove it, each time you re-insert it, the Reader will have to go through the process of re-loading all the books into it's memory, which can take a while.

Hope this helps--

Thanks for your input! I've just found some of those threads about cards and battery life, but I don't come away from any of them with a definitive response. I did see that you could have cards in both slots at the same time, which had also crossed my mind, but since I've only the one SD card (so far), I didn't ask.

I am being nosy, but what kind of book could possibly be not PC? The communist manifesto? home made bomb manuals?

i say the best thing you could do is rename it to something like: "The love in the wind" by Danielle Steele. and only you would know what it really is, but then again that title would be kinda embarrassing for others to see too

I believe in literary circles it is called Erotica. It sounds so much classier than porn!

Kaz

PS As a romance reader who gets totally annoyed when her husband asks what "bodice ripper" I am reading, I can understand the lure of wanting to keep some information private!

This is true, but since no one has to be snooping through my ipod/computer/ereader... this never came to mind.
I think maybe change the titles names and put the real name in the comments section of the metadata, or do some type of tag system (these show up quite nicely in the PRS700 as collections =) )

p.s. everyone has porn (the legal kind ) that's why i don't think that it should be such an issue nowadays. Well to each their own, but I hope the day never comes where my friends judge me by my extensive scifi collection or just because I like my cowboys barebacked... (tmi?...teehee...)

Gawd, I'm glad I'm not in the U.S. right now, I be getting knocks on the door by all sorts of official looking people wanting to read my books now! lol

One problem there is that my wife would grab my reader and want to read all the new Danielle Steele titles. "When did Danielle write "Give it to me baby?" "rofl

Yes, the ultimate goal is just to save an embarrassing moment. As I'm sure everyone here knows "everyone" wants to see the new readers!

Just my opinion but when the ladies read the racy stuff.... it's erotica. When guys read it, it's porn. But at least with the reader, we can still say we just have it for the pictures I guess. lol :P

Porn usually excludes the trials, tribulations and romance that lead up to the act...
