Greetings from the Pacific Northwest
I'm located on the Olympic Peninsula (western Washington) where I reside in a temperate climate jungle / rain forest. I'm a retired (computer) engineer as well as a disabled vet; I'm accompanied by Keiser, my Medic Alert Service Dog, and Mary, my lover for nearly a half-century.
I've written a couple of dozen books on computers and computer programming (none as ebooks and presently out of print) as well as a number of mysteries (available as ebooks in several formats, none using DRM). For personal reasons, I'm interesting in finding out how to make ebooks I've purchased easily transferable between devices; in part because I'm scheduled for surgery on my foot shortly and will be very restricted in my movements ... but don't want my books to be similarly restricted. |

Good to have your company, Ben. You can convert most files effectively from one format to another using the free Calibre library software ... IF a file isn't padlocked by DRM. If it is, DRM can be fairly easily stripped, but -- although there are instructions on how to all over the net -- it's only borderline legal (thought most believe quite morally justified), so we can't go into detail on the MR boards. Good luck and best wishes. Neil
