Something makes me think that this has a touch of truth to it. I think it's logical to believe Amazon is way out ahead of the competition this way.

I agree L. J. because people buying iPads aren't readers otherwise they would be buying e-readers.
Like me they probably use iPads to check out MobileRead in front of the tele with the family without being too anti-social in the next room. Check the email, facebook, ebay etc. Then there's the younger ones that are gamers etc. I think iPad versus eBook sales would probably be miles apart at this stage. Only slightly better than iPhone sales versus ebook sales.

People are known to use computers to read eBooks. No reason why iPads cannot be used to read eBooks. And some people do too.
