New forum for eBooks

I do think we could use a general purpose forum section to talk about eBooks.

A good example of this is the following thread...

I agree completely, though my main interest is in encouraging people to use consumer power by routinely providing feedback to publishers about typos or errors in their books.

I second this. After almost one year here, I still struggle to know where should I post something ebook releated, but not for any specific ereader or format. The conservatory and lounge says it's for non-ebook discussions...

The meaning of that is "discussions which would be better in a more appropriate forum". The Conservatory is the ideal place to have a discussion of any eBook related topic for which there is no better place. Please feel free to post there.

Why is the definition of the Conservatory incorrect? It's purpose was to be a place where there is no other forum section for it to go and where the posts are not silly. But as long as it says for non-eBook discussions, the Conservatory is not able to do it's job.

I concur Jon. You were the OP in the thread New forum section that's not the lounge and after having re-read it, there was no mention of excluding eBook related topics. The current description of the Conservatory "Non e-book related discussions on any subject" is misleading or incorrect and should be changed to something like "Device-neutral or serious discussions on any subject".

That, or else your request for yet another forum for "device-neutral" topics should be considered.

WDE.
