When you say "western" do you mean "cowboys and indians" type stuff?

Probably the most prolific author of out of copyright ones was Zane Grey - PG has a couple of dozen of his. I've not looked to see if any have been nicely formatted for the Reader - if they haven't, please do them yourself and post them here for others to enjoy.

I remembered someone mentioning James Fenimore Cooper and I even found a book by him here.

Another Western writer I remember from my childhood is Mayne Reid, but I don't see any of his books uploaded.

There are several Max Brand books at PG and I think there's a western bookshelf.

I posted Giants in the Earth a few days ago. While not strictly a "Western", it is about settlers in South Dakota.
