When you say "western" do you mean "cowboys and indians" type stuff?
Probably the most prolific author of out of copyright ones was Zane Grey - PG has a couple of dozen of his. I've not looked to see if any have been nicely formatted for the Reader - if they haven't, please do them yourself and post them here for others to enjoy. |

I remembered someone mentioning James Fenimore Cooper and I even found a book by him here.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10613 Another Western writer I remember from my childhood is Mayne Reid, but I don't see any of his books uploaded. Here's a site which has a few in HTML, html2lrf should work on them, I guess. http://www.athelstane.co.uk/maynreid/index.htm The Headless Horseman, which is probably his most famous book, doesn't seem to available online. |

The rest of the PG Western Bookshelf should be available on Feedbooks in the upcoming weeks.
There's already 57 Western books available and if you need to make a choice, you can take a loot at our top list for western books: http://www.feedbooks.com/discover/to...searchby=books |

There are several Max Brand books at PG and I think there's a western bookshelf.
I posted Giants in the Earth a few days ago. While not strictly a "Western", it is about settlers in South Dakota. Last edited by BenG; 10-22-2007 at 04:50 PM. |

Head for http://www.Munseys.com it has a whole western section (including Harte) and in several formats.
