Fictionwise and BooksOnBoard

It seems that both Fictionwise and BooksOnBoard are both down. I hope this is only temporary.

Fictionwise gives...

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

And Firefox just keeps trying to connect to BooksOnBoard until finally...

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

Interestingly, going to ww.fictionwise.com (note the two ws) gets the message

New Fictionwise Site... coming soon.

Perhaps rebranding for Barnes & Noble?

I don't know why BooksOnBoard is down too.

I made both addresses proper links.

Aaaaaargh! I just noticed this too, and it royally peeved me. I just received my new Cybook today, so I go to redownload all my titles from BoB with my new PID, and BAM, no dice!

Nothing particularly odd about it. The web server clearly isn't down - presumably they're just doing some work on the site.

If they're down to rebrand the site, as ww.fictionwise.com seems to indicate, why only rebrand the one site? Why not do all of them?

It perhaps makes better business sense only to take down one site at a time? That way it probably minimises the impact on the business? I don't know - that's just a guess.

Annoying for me as I joined BoB yesterday to buy a couple of books. I have a 25% discount voucher which looks like it may expire before I get the chance to use it!!

I expect they'll both be up in a few hours at the most. Fictionwise seems to be deliberate and from what I can tell it appears that they planned it for overnight Eastern time as that would most likely inconvenience the smallest number of their North American customers.

The others seem to be up on the face..but do a search and you get the 'fictionwise.com' error!

It's not just today that FW has been down. It's been on an off the last two days. Acts more like bad equipment on a weekend, than someone putting up a new server (or someone messing with stuff they should not while getting a new server ready).
