Kindle paperwhite problem
Got my lovely new kindle paperwhite two weeks ago, but have a major problem. It will not connect to the kindle shop. Amazon have replaced it but still the same issue. Has anyone else come across this? Is it fixable? Had a kindle keyboard for two years with no problems, loved it but now cannot access my amazon books. Help!

Wi Fi. It connects fine to our wi-fi, can access the experimental browser no problem, just not the kindle store either direct or through the browser.

silly question but i assume parental controls aren't enabled?
what happens when you try to connect? Does it fail or just never load? |

Is it just the Amazon website that doesn't work and you can browse other websites ok, or do no websites load? Can you connect to a different wi-fi network and see if it works ok on that connection?

Try buying a free eBook with your PC at the Amazon store and send it to your PW. See if it gets there when you sync it.
In fact, that may be the problem. Have you ever gone: Main Screen \ Menu \ Sync and Check for Items? |

I don't know what country you're in, but is it possible that the Paperwhite is attempting to connect to a Kindle Store that isn't authorized from your location? Did you purchase the Kindle from Amazon (or another store) in your country?

Did you call Amazon to ask about it?

Just got my 4th KPW.. very nice.. in daylight great . in Dark still those blobs at bottom.. but I have found a solution.. I use my iPad Mini in the dark with Dimmer app.. very sweet.. no blobs and Perfect for night reading.. in the daytime (daylight) the KPW is the ticket.. no glare off shiny iPad screen..

MrDoug of your 141 posts I suspect 3/4 have been hysteria inducing rubbish about your trials and tribulations with the KPW. Now your hijacking other threads and once again offering nothing. Feel free to just go away.

You access the books you've bought via the "Archive" item on the home page. Does that work? As has been said, you won't be able to access the Kindle Store from your PW if you're in a country in which it's not officially supported (eg I found that I couldn't access the Kindle Store from Egypt). What country are you in? |
