Question re: All Apps screen -- How to get to 2nd page?

I've searched the forum and can't see anywhere where this has been addressed (or maybe I just missed it).

When the vox shipped, the "All Apps" screen was pretty much full. As we know, it displays widgets/shortcuts for the various apps in alphabetical order. Now that I've downloaded a few more apps, there are too many to display on one screen - the list obviously spills over onto a second page. No problem - except how do I get to see the second page?

I've tried swiping and tapping, but vox will only display the first page of the list. And I've already removed the widgets/shortcuts for apps that are found elsewhere on the Home screen to make room for the new ones, but it's still not enough.

Is there an easy way to truly see (and launch) *all* my apps from one place?

Or is the "All Apps" screen really more appropriately called "Only the first page of an alphabetical listing of all your apps"?

I've installed the GO Launcher (available on Google Market) and with it you can create folders containing multiple apps like the iPod/iPhone. So all my apps are on 1 screen.
For the original launcher, you can swipe your screen on an empty spot to move to the next one. You should be seeing several "dots" at the top of your screen to show how many screens are available; I had 5 when I first got my Vox. Of course, most of them were empty...(at the time...)

Cool, thanks! I'll add it to my list right behind your Wi Fi Explorer!

And yes, I have the 5 screens and am well on my way to filling them up. Is there a way to get more than 5 screens?

You two seem to be talking cross purposes. Your original question was about the App Drawer but the "5 screens" refers to home screens...two completely different things. In any case, Go Launcher lets you have an arbitrary number of home screens...I only have two. In terms of the App Drawer, I think in the original one, it scrolls up/down. With Go Launcher, the App Drawer defaults to left/right but you can change it.

Yes, the spps screen scrolls though it can be tricky as it wants to select as you scroll.

To the OP: swipe up/down, not left/right, on the All Apps page. There is only one page, overflows are off the bottom.

Okay, the original All Apps screen as it comes on the Vox is just one page. Once you start adding your own apps, it will grow and you scroll up and down. Swiping the middle of the screen all too often will inadvertently launch an app. But you can scroll the screen safely up and down by running a finger along the very right hand edge without launching an app.

I like to put shortcuts to apps I use most often on the home screen. You do that by pressing on a blank spot, then selecting Shortcuts, Applications, etc. There's room for 2 shortcuts on the main (middle) screen and more on the 2 screens on either side. If there's an existing shortcut you don't really need, press on it and a trash can will appear below and drag it to the trash can.

Ahhh, ok, thanks dmacmart and oldyellr,

I see now that if I *very carefully* swipe down along the right edge of the all apps screen, it will indeed scroll down. It requires a delicate touch though! (When I tried it before, I kept activating apps rather than scrolling). So I obviously need to develop a more practiced touch on this screen.

The possibility of having more than 5 home screens was intriguing when I thought I would have to put many of my app widgets/shortcuts on them, but now that I realize I can scroll the all apps screen, I think 5 home screens will be enough. I'll put my faves on the homes, and use folders if/as needed.

Thanks all!

I had trouble at the beginning, but forgot about that until you posted. So once you get the hang of it, it will seem easy.

Mini home screens!!

Hey, I just learned the "all apps" button does another thing: today I held my finger on it very lightly for a bit longer than normal (I was thinking about pressing it but hadn't pressed yet) and it opened up a mini-display of all 5 home screen pages! Then when I tapped on one of the mini pages, it took me right to it.

I had to practice a little bit to get just the right touch to do it again (too light and it doesn't work, too hard and it activates the button) but now I can do it pretty easily.

It's kinda cool...but swiping to change home pages is still easier/faster for me. Just thought I'd share this in case no one else has found it yet.

Aw, shucks, thanks Bggbg ... but I can't really take much credit. I'm still a newbie and frankly, the others who've posted in this thread are WAY more knowledgeable than me - I highly recommend browsing through the old threads when you have time. There are lots of nuggets to be gleaned!
