Michael Jackson R.I.P.

I have just learned (through TMZ.com) that Michael Jackson passed away earlier this afternoon. Paramedics found him at his home with no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

Whatever may have been true or not about his real life issues, it's undeniable that he was a genius when it comes to music... he was one of the legends of pop culture.

I'm not sure he is dead. He was found lifeless, but neither LA Times or any of the other news sources confirm that he is dead.

Maybe TMZ has the better sources for celeb news?

Sky in the UK are reporting his death, although seemingly based solely on the TMZ report.

The Beeb are reporting he was taken to hospital, and reporting on the reports he died, but not confirming or denying

"He was found lifeless?" "Not sure he is dead?"

Um, are we talking undead here?

You're joking right?

Just because someone is lifeless (isn't breathing) doesn't mean that they can't be brought "back" to life if you're fast.

That's some crazy news. He will be missed I am sure. He was a pop genius if nothing else.

I'm freaked by this. I've worked on 2 music video with Michael Jackson and was listening to some old Jackson 5 tunes on the way home yesterday. I liked working with him as a person, he was nice to me. I did see some things that I didn't think were quite kosher but that was for the courts to decide.

This makes 3. Ed McMahon (who I just worked with last September), Farrah and Michael. Not a good week.

No, I doubt he's joking. Out here, when we say "lifeless" we mean "dead." If someone wasn't breathing, we'd say he wasn't breathing. If he didn't have a pulse, we'd say that ... and then in either case we'd start CPR.
