I got my protector from Amazon called ArmorSuit. It's one of my favorite protectors of all time actually. I've been using it for a good time frame now and it's been very solid. It doesn't affect my devices performance at all.

Anyone else used this or another product?

I wasn't planning on getting a screen protector for my KF because I didn't think the gorilla glass screen would need protection from scratches (I keep my KF in a case, rather that have it floating around in a backpack or briefcase).

After a while, however, the fingerprints and glare started to bug the hell out of me. I bought the splash Masque HD protector, which looks very similar to that Great Shiled one (and is less than half the cost). It turned out to be the easiest protector to apply (without bubbles) that I've ever tried on a device. I like it enough that I bought a similar one for my smartphone as well:

Nope. I have tried a bunch of others. XO Skins has been the best for sure. No orange peel, lifetime warranty, easy install, and it stops finger prints.

I personally don't have a need for an actual screen protector
as My KF screen is only exposed when I am actually using it and even then I use a stylus for most things

I don't have one yet. No scratches or dings (lucky so far). I remember I hated the one on the K2 and the iPhone--peeled them both off. The K2 got scratch which I was able to live with. No scratches on the iPhone so far.

So I'm now looking at my kindle fire with the nasty scratch it has since yesterday when I put it in my backpack without a sleeve. Drats! Should have mounted that screen protector I bought a month ago.

So, from my experience, let me tell you that it can be scratched (and I did not even find any openly dangerous looking items in my backpack like car keys or similar...)

I sprung for the Ghost Armor protector installed by those guys in the mall.
I happy with it so far. I had it done to all three of our Fires.
I'm lousy at applying those things myself, and if there is a way to scratch the screen, someone in my family will find it.

Hey guys, I have a protector on my kf screen that I purchased way back when, and it's starting to get scratched and scuffed up. It wasn't super expensve but not that cheap either... wondering if any of you who have the kind(s) of protectors that advertise free replacements for life have ever gone through that replacement process and could speak to whether it's worth it to purchase that kind of protector...

I have an expensive one with a lifetime guarentee, and while I am happy with it so far, I have only had it for a little over a month and can't say if the company will even be around long enough for the lifetime guarentee to matter. I did have minor issue (a mistake on my part as it turned out) that resulted in me getting it reinstalled at the cart in the mall and was happy with their service.
