KOBO for the Love of GOD - fix the Storage Error/Reset!!!
I know it's been discussed in numerous other threads already, but really, 2 TIMES IN ONE WEEK!?!?!
For the love of GOD, fix this damned problem already!!! This is ridiculous and pathetic. I posted as a separate thread hoping that the developers might get the message if they see yet another fresh rant... The REAL Joe |

This bug was raised on GetSatisfaction on July 4. Tomorrow is 1 Sept. That's almost 2 months!

They don't care about us. They got our money and somehow they don't need to offer refunds for their broken from the factory hardware because it's something we are doing to it. I'm 100% DISSATIFIED and 100% never purchasing another Kobo reader or ebook as long as I live.
Will order a Kindle and move on with life. The KT will be thrown in the garbage since that's where it should have been from day 1. SHAME ON YOU KOBO! |

This error message is most likely reporting that the SQLite database tables have been corrupted, a problem that could result from many different causes (e.g., a power failure or unexpected disconnect while updating the tables). Some people seem to get this error frequently, while others never get it, so it's likely resulting from some hardware difference like a bad USB cable or connector, or some critical difference in procedure that nobody has figured out yet. The other thread has some speculation on possible software/procedural causes, but I'd put my money on the USB connector or cable, since I've seen many reports of bad micro-USB connectors or cables.

It's unlikely to be anything hardware related as that wouldn't account for those devices that are fine and then suddenly exhibit the error without ever being connected to the PC in the meantime.

If this error is caused by hardware problem, this will be a very bad news for all of us.
Kobo can chose to ignore or recall the effected devices. We shall see what the future will bring. I did put my KT aside for the time being. |

I'll also point out that this error wasn't widespread until the 1.9.9 update.

Perhaps I do have the problem, but don't know it. The only time I turn it off (and on) is when doing a firmware update.

I am a long term owner of the origianal kobo which I love(d). I am trying so hard to love my new kobo touch which has the potential to be FAR superior. But it is getting very difficult with this error popping up so often.
Please kobo, fix it! 2 months is far too long without resolution. |

Hard to believe it has taken so long to fix this problem. It is not, however, the only problem with the KT. Perhaps they are trying to fix all of them before they release the next update. V2.0????

I think you will find they are also working on other languages for it... German for instance.

It could be Windows-related. Haven't had the error since I moved everything to my Mac. But if I didn't have a Mac, I'd be right now. My friend wants an ereader for Christmas, and I'm not recommending the Kobo to her unless it gets fixed.
