I had that problem. It gets wonky if the battery is completely depleted. I plugged it in and it took a good long time to start charging but eventually came back and is going strong once again.

5-10 minutes of zoning out without having to listen to or watch anything else. Most of all, no iPad (or Nook or Kindle or Netbook or Sony…)

Because, friend, if you are using the iPad in the shower, you've got more problems than a "too usable and versatile" electronic device.
