Unhappy iLiad weird CF/SD card problems

Update: After some searching I found that only 1gb SD cards work, but still mine didn't. As to why a simple 128mb CF failed to work, I still have no idea)

Decide to shake the dust from my iLiad (which gets no love between my 3.6" WVGA winMo phone:books and my 12.1" tablet: graphic novels).

I loaded up some books on a 128mb Kingston CF and it's not showing up in the iLiad? Formatted the card to FAT, and no go again. Go, grabbed one of my 4gb microSDHC cards (with an SD adapter, same thing. Tried an older 2gb microSD, same. Went for a 1gb SD, no go.

I put the 4gb microSD in a USB card reader, works great. Dug up an old 16mb CF, works ok.

Any ideas?

I'm lousy at debugging Linux, so the best info I got is from dmesg:

iLiad hasn't got a SD slot, it's a MMC slot. Small SD cards (up to 1 GB) are compatible to MMC. In the wiki or so you can find a list of compatible SD/CF cards...

Thanks for reminding me. Seems as I just wasn't lucky with my cards as the 1gb SD and 128mb CF won't work.
Oh, well.
