I can't find the reference at the moment, but I heard on the TV news that Amazon was one of the complainants. Last edited by Lynx-lynx; 04-16-2015 at 11:03 PM. |

Apparently, Microsoft is at least partly behind the lobbying effort against Google.

So are we going to see another EU investigation of Microsoft because their Windows monopoly on the desktop? The way they handle OEM contracts makes a lot better fodder for anti-trust allegations than Google's practices. |

Seems like the socialist gnomes in Brussels are running out of things to screw others with.
But I have to say if I go into Starbucks and ask them where the best place to buy a coffee today is they always suggest their competition down the road in preference to themselves. Same with McDonalds, ask them where the best place is for a hamburger and they always suggest I go to Burger King. So I suppose if I asked Google for a recommendation as to the best email service provider and they were to suggest GMail first, rather than one of their competitors, then that would be just disgusting and they should be punished to the greatest extent possible. Along similar lines when we go to the local butcher he always tries to get us to go to the local fishmongers instead. Funny old world. |

I am surprised that the EU doesn't just go all the way and accuse the USA of antitrust and try to levy their 10% fine there too.
A 10% anti-trust fine of the US GDP would go along way toward bailing out "PIIGS" Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain, and dare I mention "France." A 2nd G for Great Britain is sometimes added but that is arguable. *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PIGS_%28economics%29 |
