How to load Kindle books w/o Kindle device?

Hi,

I have installed Calibre on my iMac. I had no problem importing epubs and pdfs. I cannot figure out how to import the Kindle books that are handled by my Kindle app. Even tried loading the books off my iPad, where they are again, read/stored by the Kindle app there. Missing something obvious? Is this possible?

Go to your manage my kindle page on amazon and download the files from there.

I'm not seeing how to add Calibre to My Devices--I see my Kindle App, I see my iPad App, but am not seeing what to do next that gets items either from my Mac's Kindle App, or from my Amazon account, into Calibre.

What am I missing?

Download books into Kindle for Mac

Open the location the books are stored. You should see your books there (the file names relate to the books ASIN on Amazon)
Usually [user]/Library/Application Support/Kindle/My Kindle Content

Add the books to Calibre either by dragging them into the library screen or using Add Books.
