QuickLook (Mac OS X Leopard and above) for Kindle/Mobipocket

This is a QuickLook plugin for Mac OS X 10.5.x and above, PPC or Intel.

To install, just put the (decompressed) file in your /Library/QuickLook/ folder.

Note the namechange from QLMobipocket to QLKindle. This is to reflect the fact that the new version handles Amazon's KF8 (.azw3) and Print Replica (.azw4) formats as well as Mobipocket (.prc, .azw, .mobi). (It doesn't handle Topaz (.tpz))

Do remember to remove the old one if you have it installed.

Just uploaded 1.1.

Changes from 1.0: Now can display cover images > 63KiB. Now 'exports' a mobipocket file type, which should make linking of mobipocket files to the plug-in more reliable.

Thanks a lot. Is is correct that the plugin only displays the title page of a book or is there a facility to thumb through the pages. If yes, this doesn't work on my MacBook.

There's no multi-page display, the plug-in only displays the cover image from the Mobipocket file.

Just uploaded version 1.3. Changes from 1.2: Now handles Calibre-generated Mobipocket files that sometimes have a zero length record immediately following the text data.

Just uploaded version 1.4. This adds in support for Kindle's new Print Replica ebooks. (With file extension azw4.)

Just unzip and put in /Library/QuickLook (for use by every user account) or in ~/Library/QuickLook (if you just want it working on your account).

Just uploaded version 1.5 (with name change!) Now handle KF8 format (.azw3) files as well. Some improvements to handling of newer Kindle/Mobipocket files as well.
