Amazon has free Kindle apps for a wide variety of platforms. Once you've installed the correct app for your device, you register it to your Amazon account and all of your Kindle books will be available for download. Here's the link to Kindle apps: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000493771
In general, you can't read Kindle books on non-Kindle e-ink devices because most don't support apps and don't support the Kindle format, unless you convert them to a supported format. |

You'd need (in most cases) to remove the DRM (Google for "Apprentice Alf" - we can't talk about it here) and then convert to a format such as ePub using Calibre. Very easy to do.

You really can't read Kindle store books on any other devices. There may be some devices that can read .mobi formatted books without DRM such as those purchased from Smashwords. Not sure, haven't tried.

As already mentioned we can also remove drm or simply use captured screenshots or try to use e-ink as second monitor. Last edited by markom; 12-10-2013 at 02:48 PM. |

Why would you not want to use the Kindle app?

However the kindle app for the blackberry will not run on my model of blackberry that my office gives me. Could always use calibre to translate the files and read them on a barns and Nobels app. Never really found a suitable work around.
