Occitan language not recognized in metadata.
Hi !

Kindlegen refuses the following <dc:language>oc</dc:language> in the opf file:

Error(prcgen):E23006: Language not recognized in metadata. The dc:Language field is mandatory. Aborting.

Does anyone know what languages are recognized and why Occitan is not?

These language codes seem to be hard-coded both in KindleGen and the Kindle firmware.
The closest language whose code is supported is Catalan (ca).

Strangely enough, I've just tried compiling using <dc:language>fr_oc</dc:language> and kindlegen does not complain.

AFAIK, KindleGen expects 2 letter language codes and ignores sub-languages. I.e. the language code of your .mobi file is now most likely French.

That's what I thought but it was more accurate than using ca for Catalan.
