I was wondering if there is a way to automatically check the box under convert-structure detection-insert metadata as page at start of book without having to check it everytime I convert a book?
Is there a plug in for this or anything.

Do it from Preferences. Those become the Defaults for First time conversions (or if you click the restore defaults button at the bottom of the Conversion screen)

Preferences - Common Options - Structure detection - Check the box then click on the green Apply check in the upper left. Now this will be the default in all conversions.
