Retaining formatting in metadata (book description)

I tried searching on this, but came up with too many matches, and none of the titles seemed to be it...

But I wanted to send a huge

to whoever on the calibre team fixed the issue with losing any formatting in the metadata (book description) section, when it's added to the Book Jacket.

I love that it retains the formatting now, and I don't have to open every book in Sigil to clean it up after conversion!

Okay, I'm an ungrateful wretch...or maybe it's just a demanding one. Now I want the ability to format within that description box without manually typing the code. Sort of (if not exactly) like the options we have with our replies, here on the forum. Just a quick ability to bold, italicize, maybe add bullet points...

yeah I know it would be nice. unfortunately there's no canned right text editing widget in Qt, which means I would have to roll my own, which is a little too much effort for the moment.

I'm going to have to dig out my old HTML notes to remember how to do the bullet points, I guess.
