Eliot, Charles W. (editor): Harvard Classics 52: 15 Minutes A Day - The Reading Guide

"President Eliot wrote in his introduction to the Harvard Classics, “In my opinion, a five-foot shelf would hold books enough to give a liberal education to any one who would read them with devotion, even if he could spare but fifteen minutes a day for reading.” With this very definitely in mind, we have prepared a daily reading guide in which the assignments chosen appropriately enough, will take the usual person about fifteen minutes to read with leisurely enjoyment. These selections assigned for each day in the year as you will see, are introduced by comments on the author, the subjects or the chief characters. They will serve to introduce you in the most pleasant manner possible to the Harvard Classics. They will enable you to browse enjoyably among the world’s immortal writings with entertainment and stimulation in endless variety."

The page numbers referred to herein are for the original hardcopy edition of the Harvard Classics and will not, in general, be correct for ebook editions.

Reading Guide correlation to ebooks

Given the non standard page sizes of ebooks, I am curious is there is a reference which will help guide one towards the desired text for the 15 minutes a day guide to the Harvard Classics?

I remember finding this difficult to correlate when using the references on the bartleby web page.

Thanks!

Welcome, mattiematt! I'm sorry but I don't have a good answer for you. I end up doing a search on my PC of the Mobipocket format ebooks to try to locate what I want to read before I try to read it on my Sony Reader. You might be able to do something similar directly on your Kindle although I don't know how well the search function works and finding some unique text to search on is sometimes difficult.
