I bought my first reader on Thanksgiving day, ordering from Sony. I used to be a voracious reader but fell out of the habit several years ago. This seems to be just what I needed to get me away from the computer screen, to turn off the tv, and start enjoying books again.

Interesting to see the so far slight trend changes. Nook and Kobo are still far behind, but Kindle has now overtaken Sony with 162 against 146 2010 buys. What's the betting that we'll see the small gap widening over Xmas? Coming up 500 to have joined the poll so far. Cheers and thanks, folks. Neil

wow. I had seen that the Kindle was even with the Sony and then passed the Sony by a few. I am surprised at the sudden gap.

Since I first answered the poll (where I said I bought a Sony and forgot to say I'd bought an iPad), I've bought four Nooks (classics) and a Sony as gifts.

I've bought 4 Sonys this year and only 1 Kindle, but there's no way to reflect that in the poll. A year ago I never would have guessed I'd become such a Sony fan.

I bought two Kindles. Does that count as one or two?
