search for books and for founded authors
Another thing i would like to do is:
Search for "love" and find not only all books with title, author, tags "love", but also all books from the authors the search has found. Is there anything like this, please? |

MultiColumnSearch
Quote:
You seem to be a candidate for the MultiColumnSearch plugin. Attached is an MCS intra-book search example of searching on 'love' contained in either Title or Tags. It would also find 'Löve' and 'LÖVE' and so forth because of the option to compare using a transform function of "decompose and normalize the alphabet". You could also play with using a Regular Expression instead of using "contains" as the operator. The hard part is the "all of the other books by the same authors within the search results". Maybe I will add that to MCS, because it sounds like a very reasonable thing to want to do at times. DaltonST |

Sorry, but MCS is overkill for the first part of the search. Just typing "love" into the search will find all the book with "love" somewhere in the metadata. And limiting the metadata searched can be done on the searching tab of the calibre preferences. Or the OP can press the search button and construct the query.
The "other books by" part of the search can't be done, so, having that would be good. |

MultiColumnSearch Option 'Show All Authors' Books'
@anjade2:
Yes. Completely. MultiColumnSearch Version 1.0.33 has a Search Option: 'Show All Authors' Books'. This will also mark and display all books from the authors the search has otherwise found. This new option is available for Intra-Book Searches and Inter-Book Searches. DaltonST |

@anjade2 - I think you could also do this with the core feature Quickview (← click), highlight an author cell, press 'Q'.

Thank you.
But i look for eveything that runs automatically because there are just too many books. It was no good idea to find archive.org while beeing a crazy collector. |
