nope, no luck. Still impossible to read. Thinking about magnifying glass over the Reader to read the text and not go blind . I even tried with EU COM Regulation published on the Europa web, forget it. So back to carrying the paper :/

yep, pity though. I think there is a potential in this hardware to display PDF's in the proper & readable way.

If the PDFs are generated for the correct page size of the Reader (ie 90x120mm), they display beautifully. Trying to view A4/US Letter PDFs on a screen that's 1/6th the area they're intended for is, as you've discovered, something of an exercise in futility.

Harry, i think that we all have a bit different views & experinces. I tried to distill a pdf document from doc to pdf 90/120, still print was not satisfactory. Could you maybe write setps you take to do it? I mean starting from source doc?
The pdf discussions are all over this forum without really satisfactory solution

Sony put out a PDF generation guide some time ago, hang on -- (rummage, rummage) -- here you go.

It's actually a pretty good run through on making the things.

...to agree with HarryT, I'll add that a lot of older books in pdf, such as from archive.org, etc. may be in a smaller book format, which works rather well with the reader. Actually, the biography of Calvin Coolidge, just as an example, works wonderfully.

So if I just have a PDF file that is greyscale and too small on the Reader, does that mean that I can't do anything to it to get it to look better? It seems like the suggestions that have been made refer to changing a Word file to print to PDF differently. Thanks!

Definitely check out the features of PDF Rasterfarian, mentioned a number of times around the forums. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10402

It allows you to split documents into two -- it may be readable this way, at least it's another thing you can try.
