KDX taking over 30sec to turn pages

So I loaded an instruction manual on the DX yesterday, and everything seemed to be working fine. However when I got to page 31 the kindle started taking a very long time to turn to the next page. I have restarted the device, and held the switch on the off position for two minutes and it is still being very slow. Has anyone else had this problem and know a solution for it?

This behavior occurs on some pdf files and is one of the main complaints about the Kindle's pdf capabilities. The same thing used to happen in Duokan but they seem to have fixed it in the latest release which means there is hope for a fix in the Kindle's own firmware.

Duokan is better for pdfs but isn't perfect. Titles of files are limited to one line of widely spaced text on the home screen so the names get cut off on the display making it a little difficult to see what files you have, especially science or engineering papers with long titles.

Try to convert the PDF into black-and-white. This should work fine with a program like adobe acrobat or any other PDF-tool.

You can print this PDF file through something like PDFCreator (see here for more details) - that should elimited all complex PDF markup KDX chokes on and speed up page turn times.
