I think a lot of people are overreacting. I dont see anyone demanding a complete ignoring function or threatening to leave if its not implemented. Only people saying it would be nice to have and they would use it if it was an option.

I'm pretty happy with the Ignore function as-is. I have 3 whole users on my list, and I'm pretty sure 2 have since been banned.

Quote feature. It lets you know things you didn't want to know. This is why it'd be helpful to have an ignore function that lets you ignore the quotes of the ignoree (is there such a word?)/ one/s you ignore.
