UK Repairs

I dropped my PRS-505 (bought Sept 2008) on the carpet, but the display is now malfunctioning - missing a section on the right hand side. I've charged it overnight with the wall charger and done both soft and hard resets, but there is no change. I've looked through posts here and I think the suggestions are that there might be a loose connection.

I started to register it with Sony Repairs Centre but they appear to want a fixed fee of £176 (twice what I can purchase a second hand reader for) unless I have misunderstood.

I wonder if anybody knows of somebody else in the UK who undertakes repairs?

Thanks

Afraid I don't know of any repairers in the UK but I do know that Waterstones in the UK are currently advertising refurbished 505's for £59.99 on their website (just in case it comes to that).
