505 display problem.
I haven't used it for a year or so, but after an overnight charge, the display is unusably faint. There's just enough contrast to show that the reader works and responds to pressing the buttons, but reading a book is impossible.
Any ideas? |

Yes, and the display claims it's fully charged.
I'm wondering about fitting a new battery, mainly as it wouldn't cost that much. Buying a new one seems a better option than having it repaired. |

I don't know what is causing the display problem, but you might try a hard reset before other options.
The instructions for this is listed in the sony stickys. Maybe try the hard reset and then charge again. |
