I don't think the ads would bother me (they don't on my SO Kindles). But since nobody has actually seen what it looks like, I will reserve judgement.

$15...cheaper than the eink reader buyout. I wouldn't be surprised if it were basically lock-screen only. If they're only on the lock-screen, I'll keep my $15.

I'm currently planning to leave the ads on when I order it, and let experience decide. The way I'm feeling, if they're just on the lock screen I'll probably save the $15; but if they are on the home screen as well, they're gone shortly after it arrives.
